The Green Hotel was obviously a love declaration

I think my grandmother lived in shades of white. Whenever I visit the Green Hotel in Mysore I feel as if I was her, living in another time, a slower one, something like the 50s in Argentina, which is like saying the 20s in the United States.

These pictures bring me back to a time I did not even know existed, a time when it was OK to sit down and just write, do morning pages, take in the scent of the flowers, slow down, play cards, chat with your lips and sound coming out of your physical body.

If you ever come to Mysore I highly recommend you stay at least one night in this beautiful place. It is an environmentally correct hotel, run non-for profit, all the money goes to further environmental developments.

Not only that but you can tell that a prince built it for a princess… there is love in the architecture, in the details, in the energy of the rooms, the spaciousness, the room for entertainment, you can feel love in the air. Even if that part of the story turns out not to be true, I like it and I am keeping it and you can’t take it away from me! hee hee

See for yourself, tell me this is not love!

It's a very beautiful hotel. I spent my first week there, when I arrived in Mysore. It was a soft landing.

    Dear Claudia
Fabulous pictures and hotel. I feel I'm looking at a stage set from a Merchant Ivory film. Thanks for sharing.

How great that you got together with Napper. I have a feeling we're all going to meet at one point or another, not only talk to each other through the blog.

hugs
Arturo

Hi Ursula, yes soft landing is a good way to describe it, I like it :-)

Arturo, you are right, I am sure it will happen, we will have to organize a bloggers conference, somewhere convenient, I am going to say New York city for obvious reasons… but I am open… to possibilities

Yes this hotel gives me the feeling of being in a movie, it is very special…

I've only stayed in the budget rooms, but even so, I enjoyed the feeling of oasis. It's great fun to hang out there at night, at the restaurant… Ahh India.
