How Young Are You?
Yoga Can Be Fun
When you take a one-on-one class with me, you enter a space designed exclusively for your current life.
One common response is release, another is laughter.
The physical sensations, the balance of breathing, and the alignment of your body can often bring about a sense of lightness and joy. Laughter is a powerful tool for stress reduction and emotional well-being.
You may also find yourself reflecting deeply during your one-on-one sessions. You may become aware of patterns of thought or behavior you hadn't noticed. This self-reflection can lead to valuable insights and personal growth.
Combining physical movement, breath, and slowing down, creates a state of relaxation and peace.
Do You Snore?
One of the most common surprises for my private yoga students is the discovery of muscles they never knew existed.
For example, many people are unaware of the psoas major, a deep core muscle that connects the spine to the femur. This muscle is crucial in posture, stability, and overall well-being. When the psoas is tight or imbalanced, it can contribute to back pain, hip pain, and digestive issues.
In addition to discovering hidden muscles, many individuals are amazed by the range of motion they can achieve through yoga. Consistent practice allows people to move their bodies in ways they never thought possible. This increased flexibility and mobility can improve physical performance, enhance overall well-being, and reduce the risk of injury.
My Studio in Clifton, NJ
One surprisingly revealing way to find out has nothing to do with birthdays. It has to do with whether you can rise from sitting cross-legged on the floor without using your hands. The exercise was taught to me years ago by one of my yoga teachers, and it has become one of my favorite little reality checks—not because it's about perfection, but because it reflects strength, mobility, balance, and confidence.
If you can do it easily, wonderful. If you can't, don't worry. The good news is that these are qualities we can cultivate at almost any age. Our bodies are remarkably willing to respond when we move them with consistency and kindness.
Give it a try, have fun with it, and let me know how it goes. You may discover that "feeling young" has a lot less to do with the number of candles on your birthday cake than with the freedom and ease with which you move through life.
Private Yoga with Claudia Azula
For 25 years, I have guided people through yoga, and inner transformation. Every private session is designed specifically for you—your body, your breath, your nervous system, and your life.
People come to me for many reasons:
exhaustion, heart break, financial stress
creativity, spirituality,
anxiety, burnout, grief, recovery, chronic pain,
or simply the desire to feel more at home in themselves.
We move slowly, breathe evenly, laugh often, and remain curious. There is no perfect pose to achieve. In fact, one of my students became so comfortable exploring that she invented a brand-new yoga pose during one of our sessions. We still laugh about it.
My goal is to help you become more available to your own life
